About Me

My name's James Woolley, 29, from Somerset, England, and although not a particularly nice trait, I love talking about and coming up with new ways of earning money, which is one of the reasons I created this blog.

I've got a degree in Accounting and Finance, but after failing to get a job after leaving university, I ended up working in a factory for six months, saving up some money, and trying my hand at share trading.

I quickly realised I didn't have enough capital to make a full-time income from share trading, but luckily I stumbled, almost by accident, into betting exchanges (person-to-person betting) which were relatively new at the time.

This literally changed my life as for the next four years or so I managed to make more money than I ever thought possible and had real financial freedom just from trading the financial markets on Betfair every day.

I also learnt everything I could about trading during this time, and became quite a profitable share trader and investor, and developed my technical analysis skills to such an extent that I could earn a steady income trading other markets (like indices, forex, gold and oil) as well.

Unfortunately in 2006, bots started appearing on Betfair and took away any edge I previously had, so I decided to quit trading on the betting exchanges and concentrate on growing my money through long-term share investments, and making a regular income from my trading.

It was at this time that I started getting interested in building websites as a way of earning extra money, which is basically where I am today. My income now comes from investing, short-term trading, creating various websites, and playing the occasional game of poker online.

I have only had a proper job for six months of my life. The rest of my working life has been spent working for myself, nd although it's beebn a lot of hard work getting to where I am today, I wouldn't swap it for anything. The fear of having to one day go back to working for someone else continually motivates me to develop new income streams and build upon my existing wealth.

I like to think that I know a fair bit about money in general and how to build wealth, and intend sharing these tips with you on this blog. The type of subjects I will be discussing will be shares, property, and creating and running (online) businesses, but I will also cover the less exciting subjects such as all aspects of personal finance and saving for your retirement.

I hope you find this blog useful.
